The Garry Rogers Motorsport contender will be sporting a new look for the upcoming Darwin Triple Crown on June 16-18 after they revealed a new indigenous livery on its Wilson Security race car yesterday.

The aim of the new livery is to highlight Wilson's ongoing commitment to indigenous reconciliation.

The striking new livery was unveiled to coincide with National Reconciliation Week 2017 (27 May to 3 June).

“Wilson is very proud to be partnering with Reconciliation Australia to support the life-changing work they do,” said Wilson Australasia Group CEO, John McMellan. “We are also very pleased to have the support and assistance of PAYCE, Valvoline and Garry Rogers Motorsport to help celebrate our commitment to indigenous reconciliation in such a powerful way.”

The new livery is based on an artwork painted by indigenous artist Hazel Cowburn that was commissioned by Wilson for the launch of its Reconciliation Action Plan. It depicts an aerial view of the land and sea and includes journey lines, meeting places and spirit guides which tell the story of the journey of reconciliation.

GRM's team uniforms will also change to match the artwork, and there will be a special edition limited run of supporter merchandise also available to the public.

“I am both pleased and feel fortunate that we are able to represent our sponsor group led by the Wilson group in creating awareness regarding reconciliation,” added Garry Rogers Motorsport Principal, Garry Rogers. “The sport of Supercars has a National following and Reconciliation is a National matter, I truly hope that our small gesture in presenting our race cars in the livery based on Hazel Cowburn's artwork creates further talk and interest in reconciliation.”

To further support Reconciliation Australia efforts in raising indigenous awareness the Reconciliation Australia logo will also appear on Wilson Security Racing cars as part of the livery change.
