The Western Sydney Wanderers have signed Spanish attacker Alvaro Cejudo as their second marquee for the upcoming 2017/18 Hyundai A-League season.

Cejudo arrives at the Wanderers after making 17 appearances for La Liga side Real Betis last season, and will join the club alongside former Osasuna teammate and fellow Wanderers marquee player, Oriol Riera.

The 33-year-old winger has played 155 times in Spain's top division during stints with Real Betis and Osasuna, and has scored 12 goals and collected 21 assists during his La Liga career.

Cejudo is Western Sydney's fifth and final visa signing ahead of the upcoming season, and will join his teammates in the coming days as they prepare for their Round of 32 FFA Cup clash with Wellington.

“We’re delighted to welcome a player of Álvaro’s quality and pedigree to the squad,” Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas told

“Álvaro has years of experience in one of the top leagues in the world and will be a valuable asset in the front third.”
