Melbourne Victory goal keeper Danny Vukovic is set to make history on Saturday night when his side clashes with Melbourne City at Etihad Stadium.

Vukovic will break the Hyundai A-League appearance record on Saturday night, playing his 229th A-League match.

He will break former Central Coast Mariners teammate Josh Hutchinson's record of 228 appearances.

“I think it's something I'll look back on [later in my career],” the former Marniers and Glory goal keeper told reporters on Wednesday.

“It's nice to play so many games…I certainly never thought I'd play this many when I started out.

“I'm feeling good, I'm fitter than I've ever been. I'm 30-years-old at the moment, [Glory ‘keeper] Ante Covic is 40 and still playing so I'd like to go for another 10 years.

“Whether my body will allow me or not I don't know but hopefully I have a few years left in me.”
