Sydney FC have continue to work on their title defence, resigning Dutch defender Jordy Buijs.

He joined Sydney in the middle of last season, and the centreback proved pivotal in the Sky Blues successful league campaign.

He has played 13 games for Sydney, including their grand final victory only a few weeks ago.

He joins Milos Ninkovic, and Matt Simon who also recommitted to the club earlier this month.

Head Coach Graham Arnold spoke on resigning the Dutchman.

"Jordy was instrumental in the back half of the 2016/17 season,” he said.

“The fans love him, he’s Sky Blue through and through and I’m very much looking forward to next season with Jordy at the heart of our defence.”
