Fernando Torres was reportedly in brief negotiations to join A-League club, Sydney FC.

SportingNews has reported that Torres' management company approached the Sky Blues with the interest of making the Spaniard a marquee player at the club.

He is said to have also been in discussions with several MLS clubs.

Torres' future next season is uncertain, after just 14 goals in 49 appearances with Atletico Madrid thsi season and he was left out of Spain's 2016 Euro squad.

However, the negotiations reportedly fell down when the club was told the required salary would be $8 million per season.
