The Socceroos have made a significant leap in the latest FIFA world rankings, jumping 17 spots up to No.50 in the world.

It is the first time the Aussies have been ranked inside the top 50 since 2012.

Australia is now the second highest ranked team in Asia, behind Iran, who are ranked No.42 in the world.

Meanwhile, Argentina has moved up one spot to world No.1, ahead of Belgium, Chile, Columbia and Germany to round out the top five.
