Robbie Kruse's loan deal at Stuttgart has been cut short, with Bayer Leverkusen bringing the Australian back to the club.
The Socceroo was sent to Stuttgart on loan from Leverkusen in August last year for the remainder of the season, but will return to Leverkusen early.
“VfB had at that time made great efforts to the player who has his qualities in Leverkusen has often proved," Leverkusen manager Jonas Boldt said.
“Robbie fits with his speed and his playful skills excellent in our system.
“With him, we have gained a more attacking option.”
