REPORTS: Socceroo James Troisi set to join Israeli club

Socceroo James Troisi is reportedly close to securing a move to Israeli club, Maccabi Haifa.

Troisi, who last year made 26 A-League appearances for Melbourne Victory, had previously been linked with a move to newly promoted Premier League side, Brighton and Hove Albion.

Foxsports reports the two parties are in in discussions only, but a picture of Troisi holding the club’s scarf was posted on the club’s Twitter account yesterday afternoon.

“James Troisi (29) landed in Israel for medical impressions and examinations,” the Twitter post read.

The 29-year-old would join former Socceroo and Western Sydney and Perth Glory midfielder, Nikita Rukavytsya at the Israeli club.

Troisi has had stints at Newcastle (England), Genclerberligi, Kayserispor (Turkey), Zulte, Waregrem (Belgium), Al-Ittihad), Liaoning Whowin (China) and Melbourne Victory.
