After leaving Manchester City at the end of the 2019-20 season, David Silva has signed a two-year contract for La Liga side Real Sociedad.

The 34-year-old midfielder left Manchester City with over 400 appearances for them across a 10 year span.

“Real Sociedad have reached an agreement with David Silva for the Canarian footballer to play for the Txuri Urdin team for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2022.” A team statement read.
“The player, who arrives free after passing through Manchester City, will incorporate in the near future to the preseason of the realistic team.”

With rumours originally stating that Silvia would join Serie A side Lazio, Sociedad have secretly jumped ahead of the Italian side and confirmed the deal.

Manchester City have announced their plan to build a statue for Silva, who was able to lead them to four Premier League titles.
