Goalkeeper: Paul Izzo

Central Coast goalkeeper Ben Kennedy is perhaps unlucky to miss this week’s team as Izzo’s clean sheet is the only thing separating two solid performances between the sticks.

Right back: Jack Hingert

Hingert was a deadly attacking force for the Roar, creating four genuine scoring chances and recording 71 individual passes. His efforts were rewarded with a goal on the brink of full time.

Centre back: Shane Lowry

Lowry and his partner Alex Grant rebounded from the humiliating home defeat to Melbourne Victory with an excellent performance to continually deny Melbourne City.

Left back: Daniel Georgievski

Georgievski tormented his former club, netting the Jets’ opener to cancel out Kosta Barbarouses’ wonder strike, as well as creating several chances for his teammates. Was forced off by injury but the damage had already been done.

Right midfield: Andrew Hoole

Hoole’s move down the highway to Central Coast is so far looking to have paid off in spades. He has strung together several top performances to put himself firmly in Socceroos contention for Russia 2018.

Central midfield: Josh Brilliante

Brilliante was brilliant for the Sky Blues, thwarting attacks and dominating in the centre of midfield.

Central midfield: Dimi Petratos

Petratos took full advantage of Mark Milligan’s early bath, creating five chances including one assist and had seven shots on goal himself. Like Hoole, Petratos’ move to Newcastle has been a revelation with his early season form also putting him in Socceroos contention.

Left midfield: Ryan Kitto

Kitto’s growth under Marco Kurz has been phenomenal. This week he scored the only two goals of the game, getting in menacing positions and capitalising on some sloppy defending from the Wanderers’ players.

Striker: Andrew Nabbout

Nabbout bagged a brace against his former club and also chipped in with an assist.

Striker: Daniel De Silva

De Silva continued his development after his European stint, getting on the score sheet and creating a number of chances for both himself and his teammates with pinpoint passing.
