Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport have announced the second driver for the team at this weekend's Perth Supersprint at the Barbagallo Raceway and it is none other than 23 year old Matt Brabham, Former Indianapolis 500 entrant and Grandson of three time world F1 Champion Sir Jack Brabham.

Matt, who is th son of 10 time Indy 500 starter Geoff Brabham, accepted the last minute call to make his debut for the team and the Supercars Championship without hesitation.

“Obviously this has all come together at the last minute and has been a bit of a surprise, but we will give it the best shot we can,” said Brabham. “When Phil (Munday) rang to see if I was interested it was obviously from way left field, but exciting at the same time. Phil has a track record of supporting young drivers in the sport and this is just another example and I am looking forward to rewarding his faith in me.”

Long time sponsor Phil Munday owner of Repair Management Australia Racing will be backing the 23 year old this weekend with the stand out Black blue and orange RMA livery.

Brabham arrived in Australia on Monday, whilst overcoming jetlag he spent yesterday at the LDM garage familiarizing himself with the #3 entry.  Paul Morris will be mentoring the newcomer as he is also part of the SST Series and spends quite a bit of time with Brabham in the US also.

“I am under no illusions about the expectations this weekend, but if I can get a bit of exposure for LDM and get a few laps under my belt in a Supercar then it works for all the stakeholders. I will be out there with plenty of guys I used to race karts against so it should be cool.”
