New Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is considering a move for former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, according to The Sun.

The British publication has reported that Rodgers will pitch a player-assistant manager role to Gerrard, who is said to be home sick in Los Angeles, where he has played at the LA Galaxy since leaving Liverpool at the end of the last season.

Celtic confirmed the appointment of Rodgers last week, on a 2.25 million pound per year deal.
