The A-League's Match Review Panel (MRP) convened on Monday to determine the outcome of a number of incidents from Brisbane Roar's clash with Adelaide United on Sunday.
The game ended in high drama as Adelaide scored a 99th minute penalty to take all three points against the Roar.
Brisbane's Michael Theo was given a straight red by the referee following an elbow on Adelaide's Dylan McGowan with the MRP determining the incident fell under the offence of
"Assault on a Player (e.g. violent conduct when challenging for the ball) including an attempted Assault on a Player”.
Theo is set for a two-match ban following the incident, the minimum sanction for the offense.
Theo's absence could be crucial for the Roar as they look to climb into third spot on the table ahead of Melbourne City while they try to stay ahead of Perth Glory who sit just one point back with four games to play.
The drama at Coopers Stadium wasn't limited to on the field however as both Brisbane and Adelaide officials were involved in incidents after the match.
Craig Moore, Roar's Football Director, could be dealt a reprimand, fine and/or suspension after it was alleged he made comments towards referee Steven Lucas following the match.
Meanwhile Brisbane assistant coach Ross Aloisi reportedly struck and floored Adelaide assistant coach Jacobo Ramallo in the tunnel following the result with Aloisi also able to be cited under the FFA National Code of Conduct for his involvement in the matter.
Both Roar officials have until 5pm on Wednesday 22 March to provide a submission in regards to the sanction.
