A brilliant performance from Philippe Coutinho has earned Liverpool a 1-1 draw against Manchester United and a place in the Europa League quarterfinals.

The draw was enough see Liverpool progress to the next round with a 3-1 win on aggregate, after a 2-0 win in the first leg.

Anthony Martial opened the scoring in the 32nd minute for the Red Devils after winning a penalty.

Coutinnho then levelled the scores on the brink of halftime with a simply stunning moment of brilliance.

The Brazilian danced his way past United defedner Guillermo Varela, before scoring with a beautiful chip over David De Gea from a tight angle.

Meanwhile, Bundesliga side Borussia Bortmund defeated Tottenham 2-1 at White Hart Lane, to record a 5-1 aggregate win and advance to the quarterfinals.
