Melbourne City have signed Central Coast Mariners defender Josh Rose for the 2016-17 season.

Rose joins City on a one-season contract, following 165 appearances for the Mariners.

The 34-year-old won the 2011-12 premiers plate with the Mariners and the 2012-13 A-League championship.

He was also crowned the club's player of the year in the 2010-11 season.

Rose is City's eighth new signing this off-season, with Manny Muscat, Bruce Kamau, Daniel Arzani, Ruon Tongyik, Luke Brattan, Fernando Brandan and Tim Cahill also recently joining the club.
