The A-League off-season is well and truly underway, with both Newcastle and Melbourne Victory announcing key signings today.
The Jets secured the services of veteran goalkeeper Glen Moss. The New Zealand international has made over 200 appearances in the A-League.
The 34-year-old last played for Wellington Phoenix, however was starved of opportunity, and thus decided to make the move.
Manager Ernie Merrick commented on his side's new signing, saying, "Glen is extremely capable both technically and physically, and he is a first class character".
Melbourne Victory managed to earn the signature of Socceroo Rhys Williams.
The defender played for Perth in the 2016/17 season, in what was his first year back in Australia after playing in England.
Willliams has played 14 games for Australia, with his debut taking place in 2009.
Coach Kevin Muscat was very pleased with the signing of Williams, a player who he believes can be an important part of their 2017/18 campaign.
"It's well known that we like versatility in our squad and not only is Rhys an outstanding defender, he is also very good on the ball and is equally comfortable playing as a full-back or even in midfield," he said.
