In-form Newcastle Jets winger, Andrew Nabbout has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

Nabbout, who was the club’s leading goal scorer in the 2016/17 season, is in career best form, netting four goals this so far this season, including a brace against Melbourne Victory last Thursday.

The 24-year-old started his A-League career with Melbourne Victory, making 40 appearances from 2012 to 2015, before being cut from the side.

He then had a short stint in Malaysia with Negeri Sembilan FA, before returning to Australia to sign with the Jets last season.

“The Jets gave me a chance to return to the A-League and I’ve really been enjoying my football here,” Nabbout said.

“Newcastle is a great town, the fans are behind us and we’re playing some quality football at the moment.

“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be playing, we’ve got a strong squad of players who are committed to playing an entertaining, attacking style of football.

“Ernie has given the boys in the attacking third a license to be creative and I think everyone can see how much that’s benefiting our game – we’ve also been getting great service through the midfield and the entire squad is working together really well.

“There’s a lot happening around the club – both on and off the pitch – and I’m excited to be a part of that for the next two seasons.”

He has scored 12 goals in 32 appearances for Newcastle.
