With just one month left until the start of the 2016-17 A-League season, excitement is building around Australia as each club begins to finalise their playing rosters.

Some big moves have been made throughout the off-season as teams try to strengthen their side as best they can, and we at Zero Striker have looked at which five incoming players can make the biggest splash in the 12th installment of the Hyundai A-League.

Tim Cahill (Melbourne City)

This man needs no introduction, and Tim Cahill is bound to have a massive impact on Melbourne City's season.

The 36-year-old is the most prolific goalscorer in international history and joined City on a two year deal in August, and is set to headline a star studded outfit in Melbourne.

Cahill will link up with Bruno Fornaroli and create what many people will see as a deadly partnership.

If the Socceroo can help bring teammates into the game and impact the scoresheet regularly, a Cahill-led City may just be on their way to their maiden A-League title.

Marco Rojas (Melbourne Victory)

The Kiwi international made 50 appearances for the Victory between 2011-13, before heading to Europe spending three years overseas.

In Rojas' first stint in Melbourne the 24-year-old lit up the A-League and was named in the Victory's inaugural Team of the Decade, as well as taking home the Johnny Warren Medal in 2012/13.

Rojas was a pacey winger who had the skill to beat almost any defender, and after maturing for three years in Europe, it'll be scary to see just how good an older and more experienced Rojas could be.

Karem Bulut (Western Sydney Wanderers)

Another former A-League player returns, as Karem Bulut will be in the red and black of Western Sydney once again in 2016.

Bulut made just 13 appearances but scored 6 goals in his first stint at the Wanderers during the second half of the 2014/15 season, and made a huge impact in such a short time frame.

The 24-year-old has represented Australia at all youth levels and with a full season under his belt, Bulut should feature among the league's top goalscorers this season.

Brett Holman (Brisbane Roar)

Socceroos veteran Brett Holman has followed Tim Cahill in returning to play football in Australia, as the 32-year-old looks to help Brisbane Roar win their third A-League crown.

A rich career spent in Holland and England has seen Holman become one of Australia's most successful players abroad over the past 10 seasons.

63 international caps and a starring role at the 2010 FIFA World Cup headline Holman's achievements, and there's no doubt he still has so much more left to give.

Bobo (Sydney FC)

Sydney FC's new big signing certainly has the credentials of a marquee man, as Bobo is Besiktas' all-time leading goalscorer.

The Brazilian scored 97 goals for the Turkish giants in 222 games, and comes to the A-League after a stint in his home country.

The 31-year-old moves to Sydney with arguably more good football left in him, and a front third of Bobo, Alex Brosque, Filip Holosko will be out to cause problems for all defences.
