Manchester City Football Club are about to embark on a bold new era. With a new logo, new manager and so far two new world-class signings in toe, they charge towards the 2016-17 EPL season as title favourites, and why wouldn't they be?

But if the rumour mill is to be believed, there may very well be some more new recruits joining Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito at the City of Manchester Stadium next season.

Would any of the names listed below convince the unbelievers that Manchester City are without doubt the title favourites for next year's PL?

Leonardo Bonucci

On Monday it was reported by the Manchester Evening News that Man City had been approached over Chelsea for a potential deal for Leonardo Bonucci from Serie A champions Juventus.

Juventus are apparently keen to get the defender off their books, having said no to a wage increase and even brought in another defender Medhi Benatia, which is likely to signal the end of the centre backs' time in Turin.

Despite decent depth in this area already, it seems new City boss Pep Guardiola will leave no stone unturned in ensuring his first year in England ends with the Premier League trophy in his hands.

Reece Oxford

The Citizens are part of a long line of suitors for 17-year-old West Ham prospect Reece Oxford, and it so far looks like they may be leader of the pack.

Typically, these wonderkid signings could end up anywhere. However, given Oxford's heavy links to Greater Manchester, as well as their high proportion of teenagers featuring in the top flight (Kelechi Iheanecho, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford) it may well be that he ends up in either blue or red.

Will the lure of first team football bring Oxford north? There's a good chance it well, but to which side of the city?

Bruno Peres

Bruno Peres' name has not exactly featured heavily in transfer whispers this offseason, but for a reported 17 million pounds (per the Daily Mail), it would be a nice value signing to strengthen the defence.

Wingbacks are increasingly becoming an important cog in a football team, especially in England, and although he did not employ them last season at Bayern Munchen, maybe Pep Guardiola will look to have that option this year.

A relatively low risk, high reward signing, this would be a savvy buy for the Sky Blues.

Leroy Sane

On the other side of the risk scale sits breakout German winger Leroy Sane, who, despite, being coveted by Manchester City, may not wind up there due to a 42 million Pound price tag.

Indeed it is a lot of money for a 20 year old, despite how well he played this season for Bundesliga side Schalke. After all, the last time Man City paid this much for a 20 year old winger, they wound up with Raheem Sterling.

Still, it seems Sane is a “can't miss” prospect – but so was Sterling when he arrived at Etihad Stadium. Will the eerie precedent scare City off? Or will they cave and stump up seven million more Pounds for the “wunderkind”.

John Stones

“Money can't buy you Stones” was the chants from the Everton faithful no more than a year ago, but all of a sudden, their new boss and saviour Ronald Koeman has apparently met with the Citizens to discuss a swap deal.

The deal, reporter by The Mirror, involves highly rated defender John Stones heading to the Sky Blues, with Wilfried Bony heading the other way to ease Everton's attacking woes.

The Toffees know they won't be able to keep Stones in town forever, and despite the powerbrokers at the club keen on a cash only deal, their new manager may be able to convince them otherwise. Can a deal be brokered?
