Western Sydney did it a little easier against the Edgeworth Eagles on Tuesday night, cruising to a 5-1 win in Newcastle.

Doubles to Scott Neville and Brendon Santalab led the way for the Wanderers, although the Eagles put up a fight following a goal to former A-League striker Daniel McBreen, but the comeback was short lived.

Santalab's first goal sealed the victory for the Wanderers as Tony Popovic's men advance.

Green Gully defeated Victorian rivals Melbourne Knights 3-1 and won their way through to the quarter-finals.

Stipo Andrijasevic bundled home the first for the Knights as Melbourne took the lead, but goals to Liam Boland and Nicholas Krousoratis before half-time put Gully in front at the break.

Boland, the hero of Gully's Round of 32 win over Central Coast, was the man again on Tuesday night, as his second goal sealed the Knights' fate and helped Green Gully push their way into the last eight.

Sydney FC needed 120 minutes to beat Perth Glory, as two goals in extra time were enough to see the Sky Blues advance.

Both sides had chances although their finishing lacked in the opening 90 minutes, but Milos Ninkovic had no such problems in the 98th minute.

Ninkovic blasted the ball past Liam Reddy, and Alex Brosque added Sydney's second seven minutes from time to seal the win.
