Liverpool vs Manchester United
The marquee match-up of Matchday 8, Sees United travel to Anfield to face rivals Liverpool in what is sure to be a heated contest. United come into the game unbeaten in the league after seven games and need to continue their winning ways to maintain the pace with cross-town rivals Manchester City at the top of the premier league table.
Liverpool have been boosted in recent weeks thanks to the return of Brazilian wizard Phillipe Coutinho, but are yet to address their defensive deficiencies. Expect plenty of goals.
Prediction:Â 2-2
Burnley vs West Ham United
The Hammers face a Burnley side brimming with early season confidence, sitting pretty in sixth position on the table with only one loss to date.
West Ham will take confidence out of the form winger Marko Arnautovic showed for Austria over the international break, the erratic talent who commentators say "could start an argument in an empty room".
This should be a tight contest, with the home ground advantage leaning it in Burnley's favour.
Prediction:Â Burnley 1-0
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea
Crystal Palace's goalless streak is likely to continue against Chelsea, who have conceded only six goals so far in their campaign, ranking them in the top five defensive outfits in the premier league. Coming off a rare home loss, Chelsea will be determined to keep pace with the coveted champions league positions by coming home with all three points, a feat they should achieve comfortably against a Palace side setting records for all the wrong reasons.
Prediction:Â Chelsea 3-0
Manchester City vs Stoke City
League-leaders Manchester City host perennially tricky opponents Stoke City, who held Manchester to a goalless draw in the corresponding fixture last season. City are on a five game winning streak in the Premier League, whereas Stoke have only managed to collect all three points once in their last five outings. City are loaded with offensive weapons regardless of the pending availability of Sergio Aguero, and should be too good for their visitors.
Prediction:Â City 2-0
Swansea City vs Huddersfield Town
Aaron Mooy's Huddersfield rolls into Swansea on the back of a lackluster run of form after a promising start to the season. With both teams searching for form and possibly in the relegation conversation later in the campaign, it shapes as a vital opportunity to gain an advantage over their competitors.
Prediction: 1-1
Tottenham Hotspur vs BournemouthÂ
The red-hot Harry Kane will lead his troops into battle against Bournemouth, in a more than likely one sided affair. 'Hurrikane' Harry is one of the hottest properties in world football after netting 11 goals in his last six outings across all competitions, and is a terrifying proposition for Bournemouth's defence. Expect Kane to continue his strong form and lead the Spurs to victory.
Prediction:Â Spurs 4-0
Watford vs Arsenal
Watford host Arsenal in one of the more intriguing match-ups of Matchday 8, with both clubs possibly climbing into the top four spots with a victory. Big-money signing Alexandre Lacazette will be hoping to validate Wenger's investment in his services by scoring consistently, and has the perfect opportunity to do so against an equal bottom three ranked defence in Watford.
Prediction:Â Arsenal 2-1
Brighton and Hove Albion vs Everton
Everton have the chance to get their derailing campaign back on track with an away trip to Brighton and Hove Albion. Having lost four of their last five premier league outings, Everton are sitting two points above the relegation zone and face a Brighton side with impressive home ground form, having won two of their three home games this season. Shaping up as a tight and tense affair, this one could go either way.
Prediction:Â Brighton 1-0
Southampton vs Newcastle United
The mid-table match-up between Southampton and Newcastle is unlikely to be a goal-scoring frenzy, with both sides struggling to kick a winning score, yet having no issues defending through the season's first seven games.
Newcastle is in the slightly better form, however, neither side have won either of their last two games. In a low scoring contest, it will be tough to split the two sides.
Prediction:Â Draw 1-1
Leicester City vs West Bromwich Albion
The 2015/16 champions demise has continued thus far into the current season, desperately needing the three points against a tough West Bromwich side who will not be easily pushed over.
Fan-favourite Jamie Vardy will look to add to his tally of five goals in seven games but will be challenged by a West Brom defensive unit that has kept three clean sheets across their first seven appearances.
Prediction:Â Leicester 2-0
