Sergio Aguero and Nolito scored twice as Manchester City resisted Stoke's second-half comeback to continue their winning start under Pep Guardiola.

City led when Aguero converted from the spot - despite missing two penalties on Tuesday in their Champions League Play-off - with his second deftly nodded in from Kevin de Bruyne's free-kick.

Bojan lifted the hosts with the game's second penalty - both awarded for tugging in the box. But Nolito came on to score two late goals and seal City's win.

The Spanish forward tucked in fellow sub Kelechi Iheanacho's cut-back from close range with four minutes to play, before punishing Stoke again in the fifth minute of stoppage time when played through by Raheem Sterling.

It was a deserved victory for the away side, who were totally dominant in the first half and rarely seriously threatened after the break.

Next up for City is a home match against West Ham on Monday week. Stoke travel to Merseyside to face Everton next Saturday morning.

First-half goals from Sam Vokes and Andre Gray gave Burnley a surprise win over Liverpool, who could not recover after some disastrous defending.

Nathaniel Clyne gave the ball away for the Clarets' first goal, with Gray finding Vokes to blast home.

Steven Defour, on his Burnley debut, was allowed to charge forward and set up Gray to roll home the second. Liverpool had 81% of possession and 26 shots - but only tested Clarets keeper Tom Heaton with efforts from distance.

The Reds must now regroup and prepare for a midweek League Cup tie with Burton Albion before Tottenham away next Saturday night. Burnley are away to Accrington Stanley on Thursday morning in the cup before facing Chelsea at the Bridge next Saturday morning.

Premier League champions Leicester City and last season's runners-up Arsenal are still waiting for their first win of the new campaign after a goalless stalemate at the King Power Stadium.

Both teams were aiming to bounce back from opening-weekend losses, to Hull City and Liverpool respectively, but could not find a breakthrough in a fiercely-contested game.

Referee Mark Clattenburg was the villain for Leicester fans after denying strong penalty claims in each half, first when Laurent Koscielny tangled with Danny Drinkwater then late on when Hector Bellerin appeared to upend Ahmed Musa.

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy failed to punish the club he turned down this summer when he shot wide from close range as Claudio Ranieri's side started to exert a measure of control after the break.

Arsenal keeper Petr Cech saved crucially from Riyad Mahrez in the dying seconds while Arsenal had opportunities of their own as they enjoyed the better of the first half, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shooting narrowly wide.

Next up for Leicester is a home game against Swansea City next Saturday morning, while Arsenal take on Watford, also on Saturday morning.
