Manchester City have suffered a blow in their title race, with Kevin De Bruyne facing an extended period on the sidelines.

De Bruyne suffered the injury in City's win over Everton in the League Cup semifinal and has reportedly injured ligaments in his knee and ankle.

The club is yet to confirm the news, but his agent Patrick De Koster says he will miss at least six weeks.

"Kevin will be out for at least six weeks, but it is too early to know more at this stage," De Koster said.

"He is confident. Of course he is a bit sad that he will miss so many important games like the Capital One Cup Final and Champions League, but Kevin would not be Kevin if was not already thinking about playing again for City."
