Perth Glory have added more depth to their attacking department after signing former Sydney FC striker Joel Chianese.

Chianese's most recent club was Negeri Sembilan FA in the Malaysian Premier League, but he was released despite an impressive goal scoring record of 17 goals in 29 games.

The 26-year-old's previous stint in the A-League lasted three seasons between 2011-2014 all with Sydney, as Chianese netted 11 goals in 40 appearances.

The attacker is the final signing for the club before the season begins next month, and Chianese is looking forward to putting it work for the Glory this season.

“I'm very happy and excited to have been given a golden opportunity to re-join the Hyundai A-League, particularly with Perth Glory which is already boasting an impressive squad under the stewardship of coach Kenny Lowe” he said.

“Perth is really building something special with a strong mix of local talent and some powerful and experienced foreign players, so it's quite an honour to be amongst the group” he added.

“My aim is to be part of a historic season for Perth as it gears up to its 20th anniversary, and I will do my utmost to contribute where and when needed”.
