Chelsea are willing to sign Everton forward Romelu Lukaku for a British record £65m and send their own striker Loic Remy to the Merseyside club as part of the deal.

Everton understand the 23-year-old's immediate future lies away from Goodison Park, but the club are still reportedly holding out for £75m for the Belgian.

The big Belgian was on Chelsea's books between 2011-2014, making only one league start for the Blues in that time.

Since joining Everton permanently in 2014, Lukaku has burst onto the Premier League scene, scoring 45 goals over the past two seasons.

If the bid is excepted, the Toffees will receive Remy, a player who's seen mixed results since coming to England in 2013.

Remy's best season undoubtedly came in 2013-14, as the French forward scored 14 times in 26 games for Newcastle, before securing his move to Chelsea.
