Socceroo Brett Holman has joined the Brisbane Roar on a long-term deal.

The 32-year-old has been on the hunt for an A-League contract in recent weeks, and has finally found a suitor in the Roar.

Holman has been capped by the Socceroos 63 times across his career, featuring in the 2010 World Cup, rating as one of Australia's best players in the tournament.

The attacking midfielder has been plying his trade in the UAE since 2013, after moving from Aston Villa.

Brisbane Roar Head Coach John Aloisi is excited at the prospect of Holman in an orange shirt, and said he's the right man for the role.

“Brett is a quality player and exactly what we are looking at bringing into the club,” Aloisi said.

“His club career and international careers have been played at the highest standard. His goal against Serbia in the World Cup was stunning.”

Holman and his new Brisbane teammates will face the Melbourne Victory in the Hyundai A-League season opener on Friday October 7.
