Lionel Messi netted a hatrick as Barcelona demolished nine-man Rayo Vallecano overnight.

In doing so, Barcelona are now 35 games unbeaten in all competitions this season, breaking a 27-year Spanish record.

The La Liga leaders are now eight points clear of second place Atletico Madrid.

Messi's hatrick was his 35th for Barcelona, drawing him level with Cristiano Ronaldo's 35 hatricks for Real Madrid.
