Adelaide City superstar Nikola Mileusnic has been given a second shot at the big time, after being signed to a one-year deal by Adelaide United.

The 23-year-old has been dominating the South Australian NPL, scoring 16 goals in 23 matches and has helped City qualify for the grand final.

Mileusnic has been given another opportunity to make his mark, after being released from United just two years ago under Josep Gombau.

The pacey goalscorer has credited head coach and former Socceroo Damian Mori for his growth over the past 12 months, and is thankful Mori was able to help him get back to the level he currently plays at.

“I really have to thank Damian Mori for helping me to improve,'' said Mileusnic.

“It (Adelaide City) really is a club which operates very professionally, and my intensity has also stepped up and also my work rate ... and Damian has made sure I have improved.”

“I didn't think I'd get the chance to play in the A-League after being cut."

“It was a major disappointment but I always wanted to play at the highest level in the country and I had to keep working hard and that happened for me at Adelaide City.

“Damian had faith in me and I had faith in myself and I have been working hard and being with Adelaide United in my home town is a bonus.”
