on Day Six of the 2017 US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on September 2, 2017 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City.

Brisbane Roar defender Shane Stefanutto says his Brazilian-born teammate Henrique could play for Australia.

Henrique, who recently received his Australian citizenship, has scored 33 goals in 114 appearances for the Roar since joining the club in 2009.

“He's definitely good enough," Steffanuto said.

“It's a great conversation point now isn't it?

“I love that he's Australian. I know the fans love him, us around the club, we all love him. For him to put on an Aussie jersey, that's for him and Football Federation Australia to decide.

"But the way the squad looks now, Ange has blooded a lot of new players who seem to be younger to middle-aged. I don't know if [Henrique] at the grand old age of 30 (will be selected)…maybe it's four years late for him.”

The Roar, who currently sit top of the A-League table, face Newcastle Jets at Hunter Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
