Christian Eriksen long term future has almost been decided, as the Dane is close to putting pen to paper on a new five-year deal.

The 24-year-old currently earns just £32,000 a week as it stands, although the new deal will see Eriksen's wages jump up to £80,000 per week.

Both parties were keen to get a deal done before the season began, but it almost didn't eventuate after Eriksen reportedly asked for £150,000 a week, a figure the Spurs were not prepared to pay.

Despite the early disagreement, the £80,000 will still place the Danish international amongst the club's top earners, and the deal will see Eriksen remain at White Hart Lane until at least 2020.
